Peruvian Food

For my Birthday, I went to a Peruvian Restaurant and let me tell you, it has to be the best cuisine in the world! They have such an amazing variety of everything! This is what I ordered at the restaurant:

Cristal Beer. Imported from Peru.

Leche de Tigre(Tiger's Milk). It contains lime juice, sliced onion, chiles, salt, and pepper — along with a bits of fish. Not related to Charlie Sheen.

Jalea Mix: a potluck of different fried seafood topped with lime juice and a salad mix.
It is basically a seafood orgy!

This food is just perfect! The best part of the Jalea Mix is that they pile it up like a mountain (way more than the one pictured above) and it basically feeds up to 3 people and usually there is always some left over for you to take home and munch on later or the next day!

I know there has to be a couple of vegetarian followers out there but don't leave yet! There are some delicacies you could still eat, as this cuisine has a large variety!

This is called Papa La Huancaina. It is a salad of boiled yellow potatoes in a spicy, creamy sauce called Huancaína sauce. It is typically served cold over lettuce leaves and garnished with black olives, white corn kernels and hard boiled egg quarters.

They also have pastas and even their own take at Chinese food, which they call 'Chifa'.

  3. Interesting. I know nothing of Peruvian food... until now! I'm not too sure about the fish juice in the Tiger's milk, though.

  5. Peru is so far away here, I doubt any restaurants are specialised in my area... let alone import peruvian beer...
