I am aware...

That there has been a tsunami that has hit Japan today (or yesterday). I wish the best to the families of those affected by it and that they recover quickly.

What I don't get is why people say  "God help us or bless them" or something like that. Aren't they aware that God did create the Earth and that's how it works with it's tectonic plates. I'm not doubting God's existence, but only his power to change things. I see God as The Wizard of Oz.

A big scary face that tells you to do things, but in reality, can't really do that much. Like Frankenstein and his monster, he created it but thats it, he cant do anything about it...

So maybe tectonic plates was a bad idea.....just saying....

  1. I've never really understood prayer except for selfless prayer of gratitude. Otherwise, prayer just seems like a selfish attempt to manipulate God.

  4. I am a Deist myself (not a Theist mind you), and I do pray, but only out of gratitude and as a way to express my love for this crazy ass world.

One time I took a mushroom trip and saw God as Scatman Cruthers, so maybe that's why I have a more chill outlook on him.

  5. I believe God abandoned us a long time ago and faith is all that we have now.

  6. I believe the traditional thinking of a "God" is actually aliens visiting us a long time ago.

  7. I wish a fast recovery too and that the families influenced would be able to cope with the devastation! I think everyone agrees on that!...as for God's influence, i believe there is a reason for everything and that this is part of the world we live in. I pray but I dont expect to change the worlds future..interesting topic...im following closely!

  9. god bless? Man is an selfish, arrogant egotistical, careless being who continually throughout time disregards our environment, expediting its destruction, for the sole purpose making money. Such disasters, are unfortunate and tragic. This is the earth, not god....Showing us who's boss.

  11. I'm not even sure God actually "told" anybody anything. We're just a very imaginative species, aren't we.

  12. its a technical paradoxon. they even beg god, while, if you take their logic into consideration, it was god who is responsible for this in the first place

  13. I am along the lines of thinking that the earth is changing, and things like this are necessary for it's next stage of existence. If anyone is interested in this line of thinking and you can find some time to kill and watch this. Well, this is as good a place to start as any:

  14. I always find it strange that human's have to have some explanation for what happens in the world.
Whether its god or science we have to know why things are the way they are... which seems a little out of step with the evolutionary pressures our species has been under

  15. Honestly I'm a little annoyed at people saying "Pray for Japan" like what is that going to do? (Not Shit) But I'm smart enough to know it's not really the type of situation/circumstance(Tragedy) where you need to bring it up.
